Posted Oct-2007: PGP is scaling up.
The Personal Genome Project (a collaborative project with researchers from Harvard Medical School, Broad Inst. and Partner's Healthcare)
is in the process of seeking IRB approval for enlarging the scale of its efforts to correlate human genetic inheritance and environment with traits. This comprehensive data integration includes 'identifying information ' such as genome sequencing and facial features. The PGP is also testing a new IRB-approved consenting mechanism which frankly discusses the likelihood of disclosure of identifying information in many modern medical research projects and this one in particular. We will be seeking a diverse range of volunteers, male and female, from all backgrounds.
