How to access the Genetics FileMaker Pro ordering database:

1. Open FileMaker Pro. On the lunch room Mac, it is under the Apple menu.
   On the Gateway PC "Arrayer", (re)log in as user name: genetics, password: netpc. FileMaker is under Start->Programs->FileMaker Pro 4.1 (4th from top). Logging in as genetics is necessary only to see FileMaker in the Start menu. Alternatively, just do a find file.

2. At the Open File dialog, click on Hosts. When the Hosts dialog appears, select Main.fp3:

3. For the password, type: rolabs.

4. To see if an order has been placed: The topmost window will be Purchase_Requistions.fp3, which contains the ordering records for all the Genetics labs. To find just Church Lab orders, hit Control-F (Apple-F on the Mac), click on the Lab field, select Church from the pop-up menu, and hit Return to execute:

   

5. This will bring you to the earliest Church Lab ordering record. To see the most recent, drag the bookmark to the very bottom. You can then browse by clicking the pages of the book:

   

6. To look up PO numbers, status of a current order, or information from previous orders:
   Switch to the Purchase_Orders.fp3 window. Do a combination Find by selecting Church and entering your last name in the Requisitioner field. As before, browse the found records by clicking the pages of the book. The PO number is in the upper-right corner, next to the Vendor field. Any information about a particular order (e.g., backorder time) is in the Special Notes box at the center of the record:
