• OS sytems files and data drive resided on RAID partition (Bad!!!)

• Two 4.5GB IBM SCSI drives added to on-board Adaptec controller (see software below)
• RAID subsystem upgrade
• 3 more 18GB drives added drive subset -> increases files space to 109GB
• 1 drive added as hot standby
• Power system
• Redundant power supply
• UPS

• Red Hat Linux 6.0
• Mylex controller driver native to installation (not the case with RH5.2)
• Linux installed on th 4.5GB drives on the on-board controller
• RAID subsystem entirely devoted to user data (/dev/rd/c0d0p1) mounted as /home...if OS partition (drive) crashes, user data not affected.
