SynBioSIS will focus on providing cheap, length-verified uncloned DNA.  We are doing this for a number of reasons.  First, we don’t compete in the already crowded market for perfect DNA clones.  Second, it dramatically reduces labor costs and delivery times to give end users very cheap gene synthesis.  Finally, we are interested in what the scientific community can do with very cheap, though imperfect sources of DNA.

Our initial pricing is currently $20-25 a construct (500-700bp), which works out to ~$0.02/base.  We intend to reduce these costs as we better characterize failure rates and optimize cost reductions.
