SEQUEST: Sequence-Spectrum Correlation

Given a raw tandem mass spectrum and a protein sequence database.

• For every protein in the database,

• For every subsequence of this protein

  • Construct a hypothetical tandem mass spectrum
  • Overlap two spectra and compute the
    correlation coefficient (CC).

• Report the proteins in the order of CC score.
